Ella “Luette” Watling, 86, of Temperance, MI, died Sunday, June 12, 2017, in Promedica Monroe Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Born November 22, 1930, in Findlay, OH, she was the daughter of Justin T. and Verna M. (Thomas) Stone. She married Carl Watling, Jr. on November 25, 1955, in Findlay, OH. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2011. Luette graduated from the former Flower Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as RN for the Monroe County Health Department for over 25 years. She retired in 1992. Luette was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Temperance, MI.
Surviving are her loving son, Thomas (Anita) Watling; daughter-in-law, Laurie Watling; grandchildren, Chris (Becky) Watling and Sarah (Michael) Hammill. 4 great grandchildren, Wyatt and Greely Watling, and Elijah and Elliana Hammill. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tony and sister, Jane Yost.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will held Friday, June 16, 2017, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 9144 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am.
